Salt makes food more delicious – it’s the ideal ingredient to open up or release different flavours in food and in so doing, salt is a key component of food for flavour balancing.

Kalkpoort Soutwerke CC was established in May 1999 with a view to produce and sell salt. The development of the business involved the purchase of salt pans in the Northern Cape. The Salt Pans were extensively developed and reconditioned for commercial salt production.

The current extent of the salt pans is 1489 ha with a lifespan of approximately 30 years.

An industrial business plot was bought where we established offices and a manufacturing plant for the refining and packaging of fine and coarse salt.

Profits are invested to enlarge the salt processing facility and the productive capacity of the salt pans.

Modern technological will be used to process and to distribute quality, with efficiency and a best turnaround time of delivery.
